Below you will find answers to some of the most common questions about the conduct of the 4th Antal Dorati International Conducting Competition
Eliminatory phase: should I conduct Beethoven or Bartok?
The jury will ask you which piece to conduct. We expect you are prepared to conduct both.
Should I rehearse or run through?
This is mainly your choice, but the jury can ask you to do something specific.
Will the eliminatory phase be performed by piano 4 hands?
Yes
Will the final phase in Budapest be performed by symhpony orchestra?
Yes
Do I need to use a specific edition for the pieces I have to conduct?
There is no mandatory edition. Candidates who are admitted to the final phase in Budapest will be informed in due time about the editions used by the orchestra.
